ChaCha
Chacha is traditionally made from the residue left over after grapes have been pressed for winemaking, known as pomace. The pomace is distilled in a traditional pot still, resulting in a clear, strong spirit with a high alcohol content ranging from 40% to 65%. Georgian chacha is often consumed as an aperitif or a digestive, and is also used in cooking and in the production of Georgian traditional medicines. Chacha is an important part of Georgian culture and is often served during celebrations and gatherings with friends and family.
